I remember one time a teacher asked the class who is going to do their best. Maybe it was on a worksheet. Obviously you were supposed to tick yes. But I ticked no. I found the question in that context so condescending. It was one of my earliest little rebellions against dumb power. Anyway, isn’t it just obvious and inherent that we’ll do our best?
No one sets out to cut you off on the road
No one sets out to make a bad movie. Or in the rare case that they do, they strive to make it bad in a certain way
We’re simple creatures in some ways. We do things. We can’t really half do them. Do or do not there is no try and all that.
Perhaps my biggest issue with the world is how many people are hearing or treating each other in bad faith Where is the principal of charity
Are you doing your best, in your own way? Isn’t everyone?
I want to meet art where it’s at
Every single person is doing their best.
And if I were you, I’d make all the same decisions you’ve made
Do I believe that? I hope so
I think it’s important.
all forms of communication are imperfect I love language, but its a nonsense attempt at sending thoughts
Assume the best version/interpretation of what people say
Symantics is an endless death void
Not everyone will do this, and that’s not fair, but you can do it. We can do it
All this is to say…
I’ve been doing a reaction channel
I think it’s awful
But I absolutely understand the joy of watching reaction videos
When you really love something, you just wanna love it with other people
So many reaction videos are painful though. People who are more interested in themselves and being liked than really watching and enjoying the movie or music or show in front of them
So my channel is called Principle of Thomity, as a reminder of the principle of charity, so that I can always watch things with the intention to love them for whatever they are
Everything’s more fun that way
